The Poppy Factory

The Poppy Factory
The Poppy Factory supports veterans with health conditions on their journey into employment, helping them overcome any barriers. Four out of five of the veterans we work with report a mental health condition. Whatever their situation, and whatever they are going through, our employment team is on hand to offer one-to-one support.
Our service is veteran-centred and helps ex-Forces job seekers of all ages, including many over 50. The people we support move into a diverse range of jobs across many different sectors, from logistics and construction to the charity sector and health care.
The Poppy Factory has been supporting veterans with health conditions for nearly 100 years. We continue to stand by them on their journey into employment and beyond.

wORKING IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE NHS

We are extremely proud to announce that we working in partnership with the Op Courage service launched by NHS

Mental illness is common and can effect anyone, including serving and veterans and their families. While some people cope by getting support from their family and friends , or by getting help help with other issues in their lives, other need clinical care and treatment, which could be from the NHS, support groups or charities. Although this is completely normal to experience anxiety or depression after traumatic events, this can be tough to deal with. Furthermore, the culture of the armed forces can make seeking help for mental health problem .appear difficult . At Veterans Response we have self referral forms on site .

Op NOVa

Op NOVA, delivered by the Forces Employment Charity and commissioned by NHS England, provides support for veterans who are in contact with the justice system, enabling them to access the services they need.

Our pathway of support uses expert knowledge of the military charity sector and an understanding of provisions provided by regional organisations to create a shared action plan with each veteran. We work to secure housing and employment. Our overall aim is to enable veterans to live stable lives so they can reduce reoffending.

We undertake a needs assessment for each individual and put in place specialist support from our network of military charities and other organisations. We keep in regular touch with veterans, assessing the impact of our work using outcome stars when support commences then again in three months.

Care After Combat are our subcontractor, linking with veterans in prison so that they can be supported across the crisis point of prison release.

Since 2014, we have worked with over 5,000 veterans. 81% of the veterans we work with state that their mental health and wellbeing has improved since working with us. 73% of veterans said they had improved their relationships with their friends and family, with 79% stating they had improved their anger management.
